Those who know of The Resume Store and its long-time mission to help Floridians regain the pride that comes from gainful employment; the abilities to adequately provide for one’s self and families; to achieve professional growth, reputation and stature within industries of choice; to see to the educational goals of one’s children; to foster within family members the security that comes only from being good providers  and seeing to personal and family dreams and aspirations.

The Tampa Bay area is home to more than 132,000 unemployed. A number that overwhelms the scales at 12% plus. In as much as there are multitudes of jobs to be acquired, many have not the resources or the mental fortitude to peruse after weeks and months of job search disappointment. Others, desiring employment in their chosen fields may find their industries losing jobs exponentially. Certainly for many the future may be painted with discouragement.

However, as is the pattern of The Resume Store, we once again bring opportunity for those that want, need or whose backs are genuinely pressed against the professional wall and will make whatever sacrifices are required to provide for themselves and their families. I urge you to read Tom Brokaw’s comments below and highly consider the possibilities he suggests. Should you require assistance; we are, as always, available to help.

Tom Brokaw tells college
grads to look for jobs overseas

You know the US economy is in bad shape when even a great
patriot like Tom Brokaw is telling young people to think about finding work in the Middle East or Asia. Interviewed Friday on BlogTalkRadio, the former “NBC Nightly News” anchor doled out advice to college grads entering today’s job market. “I wouldn’t be looking just within our borders for opportunities. I’d be looking to see what the chances are of getting a job in the Middle East, for example. Or in India; Or in China,” Brokaw — author of the 1998 best-seller “The Greatest Generation” — told host Heather Taylor: “I’ve talked to a number of very senior American executives who — so much of their work now is offshore — say one of the things they need are people who are willing to pack up and go there and become middle managers.”

One Response to International Jobs – Working Overseas by Arnie Sherr – The Resume Store

  1. Mina:
I am pleased you read my essay; however, as I wrote in a direct e-mail to you The Resume Store is not an employment agency. We do not search for jobs for our customers. Our main business is writing resumes and cover letters so job seekers have a better chance of getting interviews. Essays such as the one you are responding to are posted to assist job seekers by suggesting new ideas to find jobs. America is in a recession and the rate of unemployment here is very high. More than 15 million are unemployed that we know of. It is my objective by suggesting new ideas that they expand their possibilities. Having said that, it is up to them to do the searching.

Even if I were able to search out jobs vacancies for you, I have no knowledge of Ghana or how employers, faith based and philanthropic organizations go about advertising for employees. Perhaps someone reading your request and my response may be able to advise you better.

Good luck to you and Gods’ blessings for the work you do.
